☆♥*♥☆Capricorn/Cancer~Relationships☆♥*♥☆

Knowing your partners 7th house cusp (the relationship house) and the ruler of that house indicates the type of partner you may attract or are attracted to and the method of relating within that relationship.

The Ascendant or Rising sign is the sign rising on the horizon at the time of birth. This is the face we show the world, our “mask” for which our Sun☉  hides. This is our outer personality, temperament and disposition as well as how we experienced our early home environment growing up. It is the way others see us and also gives indication of our physical appearance. The ruler of the Ascendant and the aspects (connections to other planets in your birth chart) further delineate and define your physical appearance.

The Descendant, or 7th house cusp, its ruler and the aspects it makes, symbolizes the type of partner you are attracted to. The 7th house is the house of all partnerships including marriage and legal contracts yet also considered the house of open enemies or the Defendant in a law suit.

In relationships, Capricorn♑  has a planetary rulership with karmic Saturn♄ . If you have a Capricorn Ascendant, you appear responsible, mature, controlled, serious, reserved, warm, friendly, physically attractive and determined. Others look to you for advice and seek wisdom in your presence.

With Lunar ruled Cancer♋  on the descendant you seek a home loving, family oriented person, one who will make a good marriage partner. Attraction to a partner with those qualities who is nurturing, good parenting skills, enjoys cooking, easily expresses emotions and feelings and who is financially responsible, is likely. A man with Capricorn on the Ascendant may be physically attracted to the female form, particularly the breasts.

One of the first aspects to view in the chart of a potential partner is their Moon ☽  placement. Since the Moon rules your descendant and it's behavioral qualities within the chart, it may also manifest and be felt within your relationship with that person.  Because the Moon rules your relationship house, it is important that your partner's Lunar placement makes positive aspects as the quality of those aspects will play out and express within the relationship.

It is also possible for a Capricorn Ascendant to attract a partner who has Saturn or the Moon prominent in their chart. Prominent Saturn would be in aspect to the Sun, Moon, Mars or Venus or elevated in conjunction to the MC (10th house cusp)or IC (4th house cusp) conjunct or ruling their Ascendant or Descendant or Sun sign in Capricorn.

Knowing the date, time and place of birth is important in determining the Ascendant, or Rising sign, the sign rising on the horizon at the time of birth. This cusp sets up all other house cusps dividing the areas of life.

☆♥*♥☆The Chariot~VII~Cancer☆♥*♥☆

Tarot card number 7 is called The Chariot, symbolic of the depth of nurturing Lunar folks  offer. The Chariot is the director of his own destiny so long as he stays focused along his path. He is in control and holds rein on his feelings. He leads the way with unwavering focus, ambition, and determination. It is apparent he is anxious to be where he wants to go, which isn’t always where he needs to be. Sometimes this focus and determination is detrimental. It is important to look up from time to time and attend to what is going on around, andthat doesn't have to be distracting. Overly ambitious, excessive desire to pursue a goal “at any cost” may result in “not seeing the forest from the trees”, and may actually sabotage one’s goals rather than achieve them!

The black and white Sphinx’s on this card are symbolic of opposing forces that may require careful blending. Each color wants to move in a different direction and it is the Charioteer’s job to prevent this with his powers of concentration, focus, and determination. Sometimes decisions are made with black and white thinking rather than accepting shades of gray. Balance and compromise to the middle ground is required when this card appears. Being sensitive to the feelings of others, creative problem solving, and keeping emotions in check with one's intellect are symbolic of Chariot.

When Chariot appears, there is a sense of blending yin and yang, feminine and masculine energies. Strong Sun Moon ~ Flicker
In Native American Astrology, those born from June 21~July 22nd are born under the Strong Sun Moon and their animal totem is the Flicker or Woodpecker. Their color is pink and they are part of the Frog Elemental Clan. The flicker is a member of the woodpecker family and is known for its perseverance and relentlessness in the face of security desires or needs, particularly if it involves their children. The flicker is quick, precise and detail oriented.

The name flicker is actually dervied from one of its sounds. It makes a variety of sounds, and during mating season it displays its greatest musical talents. "Their drumming is also tied to the mysteries of music and rhythm. Anyone with Flicker as a totem would be wise to study the use of percussion instruments i.e.: Drums and rattles” (Andrews).  Flicker people are also home oriented. Having a comfortable and beautiful living environment is important to Flickers. They function best when their home; physical, emotional, and mental, is attractive, comfortable, calm, and running smoothly.

The carnelian agate is their mineral totem. Carnelian was the first hard stone engraved in ancient times. Because of its color, carnelian has been associated with blood. It was considered a stone used in emergencies, thought to possess an ability to stop blood flowing from wounds. It is useful in healing people. Because of its color, it is also associated with the heart. The stone is often given to ones object of affection as a pledge of love.

Woodpecker was known to the Romans as the bird of the god Mars. Powerful neck muscles and persistence makes it possible for them to dig in wood for bugs. They are also able to climb up and down trees without a problem, defying gravity. There is a resident woodpecker outside my office window and he usually hangs upside down on the bark of the tree; truly quite the acrobat! “In Greece and Rome, woodpeckers symbolized war, destruction, sudden attacks, and storms. Germans called it the Little King in the West and the “King of Birds” (Conway).  Woodpecker is both beautiful and fascinating to watch.

☆♥*♥☆Summer Solstice~Sun enters Cancer☆♥*♥☆

Happy Birthday Cancer ~ Moonchild

For Those Born Between June 21~ July 22nd. 

The Key Phrase is: I Nurture.

On June 21st, the Sun enters cardinal, Cancer♋ 00 degrees. Uranian Astrologers link 0 degrees to all cardinal signs. Cardinal energy (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) initiates, is action oriented, and outgoing. These signs are restless, often impatient, open to change, and may project that energy onto others and the environment. Others may view them as domineering because of the desire to make things happen. Cardinal energy represents movement from an inner, passive quality to an assertive, outer quality. It is our will to be noticed, like seedlings pushing their way through the soils surface towards the warmth of light. Interestingly, there are fewer geomagnetic disturbances in the ocean at the Solstice points of June/July (Cancer) and December/January (Capricorn) than during the Equinoxes.

Cancer is caring, responsible, romantic, sensitive, and sensual in their romantic relationships. There isn’t anything Cancer won’t do for their partner and loved ones. They are generous with their time, love, and possessions once trust is developed. Developing trust in relationships is critical. Security and loyalty are most important to lunar folks, which is why betrayal in love has such a devastating effect. Scorpio’s might say “Don’t get mad, get even”, yet a Cancerian never forgets…and some say they never forgive an emotional betrayal, although rationally they may. Considered to be old-fashioned, maintaining traditional values, Moon children are sentimental; they save and collect just about everything. Lunar individuals stay in contact with old friends saving memorabilia from the past. They are most devoted to their mate and family, specifically their offspring. Memories and intuition are acute, possessing the ability to store past emotional memories and impressions with accuracy and detail.

Cancer, the crab has a hard outer shell yet a very soft interior. Crabs crawl into their shells when they are frightened and move at a slow and constant pace. If you chance to watch a crab , he tends to move from side to side, not front to back. This symbolism is prominent in the lunar-ruled. There may be the tendency to confront a problem or person in a round about fashion, rather than straight on. This method by which conflict is resolved is most prominent. Remember, Cancer is a cardinal sign. Timing is everything, (within the emotional waters or tides) and it must "feel" right to engage in communication. 

The astrological glyph is the Crab♋, and the shape of a sideways 69. Numerologically, the number 69 reduces to the number 6 (6 + 9 = 15 or 1 + 5 = 6) symbolic of service and choices. Moon children are the nurturers and "mother's" of the zodiac. Because Cancer resides in the 4th house of the zodiac, she is ruled by the Moon. Emotions, feelings, children, ancestry, cooking, and the home are most important to lunar folks. Emotional comfort and personal security is critical to a Cancer. The Moon is often called a “light” or “luminary”. She is symbolic of our instinctual emotional nature, how we may or may not have been nurtured as a child. Our “perception” of our own mother and how our emotional needs either were or were not met early in life are symbolized by the placement of the Moon in your chart. “She” is the feminine principle (yin). The Moon is receptive as she retreats during the day, hidden from view, absorbing the light and energy of her partner, the Sun. This energetic "light" is reflected back to us in the evening, once the Sun has disappeared from view. She might be considered the “shadow”.

When the Sun is in Cancer♋ it combines the union of opposites, both Solar and Lunar energy, the masculine and feminine. According to Mythic Astrology by Guttman and Johnson, when a person is born under the sign of Cancer it said to be “the sign of the “mystic marriage”, the union of alchemical opposites”. For this reason, lunar folks are said to be psychic for they are very open to universal energies.

Don’t ever believe that Cancer is weak. That would be your first and last mistake! Cancer is an intuitive, cardinal sign.  Lunar folks are tenacious and persevere under the worst circumstances. Emotional depth perception is bestowed upon Cancer’s and energized by the Moon’s radiant reflection.

In health matters, the lunar-ruled relates to the breasts and stomach, symbolic of the nurturing instinct i.e.: breasts for feeding babies and the stomach for consumption of food/sustenance. Considering the disease Cancer and the proliferation of breast Cancer, specifically in women, there is the tendency for women who give too much, do not speak up for themselves, and whose emotional needs are not being met. As a result, the pattern becomes internalized and a disease develops to render the "giver” incapable of giving because they are too ill to do so. The reverse manifests in that the “nurturer” becomes the one requiring nurturance.

Cancer’s polar opposite (4th house~home, our ancestral roots, end of the matter, children, family food and nurturing) is the cardinal, earth sign Capricorn (10th house~career, public reputation). The integration of home and family versus work and the public are issues to be addressed in the life of Cancerians. When under stress, each sign operates through negative characteristics of their polar opposite, the sign 180 degrees opposite itself. When under stress, Cancer may become cold as ice, hiding in their shell, willful and decisive, similar to earthy Capricorn (the Sea Goat) ruled by Saturn, the Lord of Karma. Remember too that Saturn is the ancient ruler of Aquarius and that “flavor” can be added to the above interpretation. Aquarians may appear distant, aloof or cool because they are a cerebral air sign.

On Wednesday the 19th, we'll experience our first Full Moon of the year.  The upcoming Full Cancer Moon at 29 degrees mirrors the July 21st, 2009 Total Solar Eclipse, also 29 degrees Cancer. The Moon feels comfort and at home in her own sign opposite the Sun in Capricorn, the parental axis.

What makes this Moon interesting is that it's the apex of a Yod, the "Finger of God".  The planets connecting to the "finger" are Chiron/Neptune in Aquarius and the North Node in Capricorn; collectively sending spiritual energy to the Moon.  The Moon is already receptive by nature and this particular Full Moon more so.  "Take what you like, and leave the rest", what's no longer serving your spiritual growth and higher good becomes clearly evident. The 29th degree, an ending degree, likes to hold onto people, places and things too long, past their "due date", yet when it finally decides, considering every possibility, it's swift, taking immediate action.  There's no turning back. The Moon Child is the proverbial collector, assimilating feelings, thoughts, and sensations, a heightened intuitive awareness.  Ms. Moon receives Divine guidance in this matter from Jupiter and Uranus, forming a lovely, confident, supportive trine.

Vesta = Mercury/Venus, Venus/Hygeia, Venus/Pluto
Pluto = Sun/Venus, Pallas/Node, Saturn/BlackMoon, Neptune/Hygeia.

On a mundane level, water will continue to be an major issue across the United States and across the Globe. As I type this, it's 28 degrees, and snow is falling again in New Jersey. In my town alone, we've experienced approximately four feet cumulatively, and winter has essentially just begun. While the  current snow is forecast to turn to rain/sleet, flooding is likely in many areas. We'll continue to hear about more flooding in the news, affecting homeowners, land, and crops.

For those who have planets at 28/29 degrees Cancer, or within a couple of degrees on either side, you're receiving a boost and protection from benefic Jupiter and innovative Uranus.

Ascendant/Descendant Relationship Axis (1st house/7th house)

Knowing your partners 7th house cusp (the relationship house) and the ruler of that house indicates the type of partner you may attract or are attracted to and the method of relating within that relationship.

The Ascendant or Rising sign is the sign rising on the horizon at the time of birth. This is the face we show the world, our “mask” for which our Sun hides behind. This is our outer personality, temperament and disposition as well as how we experienced our early home environment growing up. It is the way others see us and also gives indication of our physical appearance. The ruler of the Ascendant and the aspects (connections to other planets in your birth chart) further delineate and define your physical appearance.

The Descendant, or 7th house cusp, its ruler and the aspects it makes, symbolizes the type of partner you are attracted to. The 7th house is the house of all partnerships including marriage and legal contracts yet also considered the house of open enemies or the Defendant in a law suit.

In relationships, Capricorn has a planetary rulership with karmic Saturn. If you have a Capricorn Ascendant, you appear responsible, mature, controlled, serious, reserved, warm, friendly, physically attractive and determined. Others look to you for advice and seek wisdom in your presence.

With Lunar ruled Cancer on the descendant you seek a home loving, family oriented person, one who will make a good marriage partner. Attraction to a partner with those qualities who is nurturing, good parenting skills, enjoys cooking, easily expresses emotions and feelings and who is financially responsible, is likely. A man with Capricorn on the Ascendant may by physically attracted to the female form, particularly the breasts.

One of the first aspected points to view in the chart of a potential partner, is their Moon placement since the Moon rules your descendant and it's behavioral aspects would manifest and be felt within your relationship with that person.

It is also possible for a Capricorn Ascendant to attract a partner who has Saturn or the Moon prominent in their chart. Prominent Saturn would be in aspect to the Sun, Moon, Mars or Venus or elevated in conjunction to the MC (10th house cusp)or IC (4th house cusp) conjunct or ruling their Ascendant or Descendant or Sun sign in Capricorn.

Knowing the date, time and place of birth is important in making the determination of the Ascendant or Rising sign, the sign rising on the horizon at the time of birth. This cusp sets up all the other house cusps that are the divisions of the houses or areas of life.

☆♥*♥☆ Winter Solstice~Yule~Lunar Eclipse ☆♥*♥☆

Dear MoonGazers,

There's so much frustrated energy building in the cosmos. On December 5th we experienced a New Moon at 13+ degrees Sagittarius. On the same day, Uranus turned direct, causing a bit of a stir. For those born around December 12, 13, 14, that New Moon degree would have been triggered.

December 21 is the Winter Solstice and by mid afternoon, here on the East Coast, a Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse marks the Sun's entrance into Capricorn. Capricorn's cardinal energy is dynamic. It signifies action, initiative, activity and leadership ability. Cardinal folks are the ones who create new projects, start new businesses, experience many physical moves, and always initiating something. This coming Tuesday, December 21st, the Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse takes place at the last degree of Gemini, 29+ degrees conjunct Hades, also at 29+ Gemini.  The 29th degree is considered an "ending" of sorts. Individuals with ending degrees, the 29th degree, tend to hold onto things signified by the 29th degree planet. Individuals born between June 20-23, as well as individuals with these degrees (28, 29, 00, 01) in their chart will feel the effects of this Eclipse's energy most, particularly as it triggers the Aries point~00 Aries, by square. 

Mercury is transiting retrograde at 26+ degrees Sagittarius, conjunct the Galactic Center, moving backwards, away from the Sun opposite Moon/Hades.  The Hades glyph is that of the Crescent Moon with the Cross of Matter.

The length of the Eclipse is 72 minutes, every minute, correlates to a year.  The December 21 Eclipse is part of Saros Cycle, 13 North, which includes the January 4, 2011 Solar Eclipse 14 Capricorn, according to Bernadette Brady's Eagle and the Lark. A Lunar Eclipse affects us on a deep, emotional level, generally over the upcoming 6 -9 months. Pay attention to themes, people, and events that may enter your life a few weeks prior and during this time.  Remember to look back just about 19 years ago for similar themes.  What were they and how do those past events and themes relate to what's happening in your life now?

Five months earlier, on the 21st of July, Saturn re-entered Venus-ruled Libra and hovers there until October, 2012. Saturn rules structure, karma, teaching, and one's career (to name a few) and positioned in Libra, focuses energy in the area of relationships. Saturn-ruled Capricorn has much to reconsider, especially during retrograde Mercury. Many relationships are being tested, restructured or have end while others will start anew. The January 4th Solar Eclipse, is Saturn-ruled.

During this holiday season, be mindful of your own and others actions. Dramatic events have been and will continue to appear in the news. We're undergoing a tremendous amount of change deep within the collective psyche as well as deep within the Earth. Visualize, in your mind's eye, what most brings happiness to your life. Hold a picture of our beautiful oceans filled with glorious sea life, dolphins smiling and playfully gliding along in their pods. Focus a small portion of your thoughts to healing our Planet. Mother Nature feels distress. She needs to feel some positive healing energy and support because she's been grossly neglected. Practice patience, tolerance, forgiveness, gratitude, and acceptance during your days. Take your vitamins, exercise, smile, kiss your children, lover, cat and/or dog, look within, and enjoy plenty of rest.

☆♥*♥☆ Full Aries Moon ☆♥*♥☆

Dear Moongazers,

How has everyone been experiencing this Venus retrograde?  Venus in Scorpio stopped dead in her tracks and turned backwards on October 8th, and life has proved interesting for many.  Couples have been reevaluating their relationships and, more importantly, what they value in all important relationships.  This Venus is deep and dark, with the ability to leave no stone unturned in matters of love. Feel free to share any synchronous stories. 

While she continues to move backwards, messenger Mercury is about to tag her down on or about October 25th with something important to share. Intimate encounters. A secret may be revealed. Before that happens, the glorious Moon is Full once more, in the sign of Aries. Last month we experienced a significant Full Moon at  00 degrees Aries, the Aries Point (AP) while this month, the next Full Moon on Friday, October 22, here on the East coast, at 29 degrees of Aries~!  00 degrees of any sign is a beginning, shiny and new with much to learn and acquire, while 29 degrees of any sign is an ending degree that may have difficulty letting go, before moving on. So, here we have the upcoming Full Aries Moon at 29 degrees.

In a recent online astrology forum discussion about this Moon in the same sign as the last one, appearing back to back, and have pondered what to call it.  What do we call a Full Moon that appears in the same sign as the prior Full Moon?  We were at a loss to find a current definition or vocabulary word to describe it. So, we decided to brainstorm and make one up.  I came up with the term "Duplicitous Moon", and there it was agreed.  The upcoming Aries Duplicitous Full Moon, like other Full Moons, is a culmination of energy.  When thought seeds are planted during the Balsamic Phase (3 days before the New Moon), that wishful energy is activated.  The Sabian Symbol for 29 degrees Aries, according to Lynda Hill's Special Edition, Sabian Symbol Oracle, is "The Music of the Spheres".  I love this symbol; one of harmony, musicality, a symphony of light, and a collaborative, rhythmic peaceful effort. The symbol for 30 degrees Aries is "A Duck Pond and it's Young Brood", reflecting family heritage, responsibility, water supporting life, and nurturing offspring.

The Sun/Moon midpoint for this Full Moon is 29 degrees Cancer "A Greek Muse Weighing New Born Twins in Golden Scales" symbolic of comparisons, a balancing act, new beginnings, the scales of Justice, measurements, and ancient wisdom is implied. The midpoint is the actual distance between the Sun and Moon, where they meet halfway. They ultimately share this energy.  The midpoint squares the Full Moon.  Anyone born on July 21st (28 Cancer) or July 22nd (29 Cancer) is probably already experiencing its presence.

Behind the scenes, powerful Pluto transits at 3+ degrees Capricorn conjunct Ceres, asteroid of grain and food, and shares a bunch of significant midpoints as follows:

Pluto = Venus/Chiron
Pluto = Jupiter/Saturn

Our food supply has been and will continue to undergo a horrific transformation if we allow the deception to continue. Genetically modified (GM) grain is currently incorporated into our food supply but there is "no" regulation in the United States requiring that GM ingredient information be placed on food labels.  We are one of the only countries who allow this!  Our food supply is being systematically poisoned for profit while other countries ban genetically modified foods completely.  More recently, growers of grain such as Monsanto (read: the Devil in disguise), continue to deceive consumers.  As a result of public protest against the high fructose corn syrup inclusion in just about every packaged food, crafty marketing professional decided to rename the "obesity causing, cancer causing, empty calorie ingredient" and label it "corn sugar".  It's the same nasty stuff.  So these food issues and the lack of nutritional value in our nation's food supply, is actually producing a society that's starving.  Ceres/Pluto connections often surrounds food issues including eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia. People are growing larger, more obese yet nutritionally starved with fake, chemical-laden, hormone-laden, ingredients that "mimic" food, yet it's not even close to food.  How long did it take for the tobacco industry to display "smoking can be hazardous to your health and has been known to cause cancer in laboratory animals" on the side of their cigarette boxes?? This posted warning process was similar for the carcinogenic effects of artificial sweeteners like Sweet 'n Low. By the time labeling is required millions of people will have already been poisoned by this manufactured garbage food.

Organic growers are being threatened for not complying with the Monsanto "agenda". This is the same company that produces one of the most toxic environmental ground hazard called round-up. This chemical pesticide is used to kill weeds on your lovely green lawn. However, Monsanto decided to create these GM seeds called round-up ready, meaning that the seed, when planted, will not die off when sprayed with round-up pesticides that's used to kill surrounding weeds and insects. It becomes "resistent" to death by round-up. So let's say that those seeds who grow into plants are picked and mixed into your food is eaten. How do you think this "manufactured" seed/food will react with your metabolism? Central Nervous System? Brain? Food Allergies? This isn't even the worst of it because these "reformulated" grains are then mixed with other reformulated grains and mixed with high fructose corn syrup a/k/a: corn sugar and mixed with mega doses of sodium, food dyes, and other unknown ingredients too long to pronounce let alone spell. Oh, let's remember too that these toxic, nutritionally deprived fake foods are also fed to cows, pigs, ducks, and chickens you eat. So there you have the above Pluto/Ceres and other midpoint symbolism.
