☆♥*♥☆New Capricorn Moon~Christmas☆♥*♥☆

Dear Stargazers✯
Today, on the Eve of Christmas there is also a New Moon at 2 + degrees of Saturn-ruled Capricorn.  Saturn ♄  symbolizes karma, restrictions, boundaries, the knees and skin of the body, hard work paying off, heads of government, physical and metaphorical structures of all kinds, and the father or paternal figure and more.  The Moon meet up with the Sun☼  for a celestial kiss at 1:06pm on the East Coast.

3 days before the New Moon  on December 24th is also called the balsamic phase. This phase is also called the Wishing Moon..............

Make a Wish, Blow a Kiss to the Universe~!

Wishing you all a safe and joyful Christmas weekend. Remember to help those in need, including animals who are unable to help themselves, those sensitive beings who find themselves on the street or shelter by no fault of their own.

☆♥*♥☆The Devil~Capricorn XV☆♥*♥☆

The Devil~Rider-Waite
U.S. Games
The Devil Card in the Rider Waite Tarot  depicts a horned, bat-winged, goat-like, half man, half beast figure, who doesn't actually exist. Psychologically, he represents the Id or the raunchy aspects of the unconscious.  The Devil also symbolizes feelings when in an addictive relationship. Feelings of being completely bonded to a person in an almost obsessive way are possible. Obsessions cause feelings of being tied down or stifled by the intensity of the energy, almost as if it is against the will. Possibility of merging with a person on a deep level, losing independence and allowing the self to be controlled and enslaved to addictive feelings of sexual love is indicated.

When love patterns are addictive, becoming caught up in appearances and the physical part of a relationship is high. Limiting the self, choosing to stay in the dark (denial) about other less desirable areas of the relationship is likely. Neglecting or denying what's valued, only serves to increase negative feelings. Without passionate energy and an intense connection, fear and doubt is a possibility. The Devil asks "What is the Truth?"

On a mundane level, The Devil symbolizes obsession with materialism. He is the "shadow". You may feel bound, controlled and owned by acquired possessions or fearful of not having enough. We “are” what we own or without those things we are no one. Possessions and ownership reflect inner insecurities, if that is all that brings happiness. The obsession does not always have to be attached to a physical object.  It can be a thought or a belief that keeps one stuck or self confined in self-destructive patterns, self-sabotaging happiness.

The Devil is card is number fifteen in the Tarot. When adding 1 + 5 = 6. The number 6 card is The Lovers. The symbolism in both cards is contained within each other in that the energy of the Devil is the shadow side of The Lovers. Every individual, even the spiritually evolved, possess dark or negative (shadow) aspects of the personality that may periodically surface. When we are not in love, we are in fear. The Devil suggests facing unrealistic fears that bind and chain us to unhealthy emotional and psychological patterns. The Lovers, urges to seek a Higher Power, and the Archangel provides infinite guidance to those who seek the spiritual path of unconditional love.

The Devil may appear in a reading during a time to focus on ridding obsessions over people, situations and material possessions that control your life. Facing fears, compulsions and bondage to materialism is underscored. If surrounded by positive cards, a commitment is on the horizon.

☆♥*♥☆ Sagittarius/Gemini Relationships ☆♥*♥☆

The Sagittarius/Gemini, Ascendant/Descendant
Relationship Axis
(1st house/7th house)
Knowing your partners 7th house cusp (the relationship house) and the ruling planet of that house, provides insight about the type of partner you're attracted to (or attract into your life), and the method of relating within that relationship.
The Ascendant or Rising sign is the sign rising on the horizon at the time of birth. This is the face shown to the world, our “mask” for which the Sun hides, and how others see us. This is our outer personality, temperament and disposition as well as how the early home environment was experienced. It also hints of the physical appearance. The ruler of the Ascendant and the aspects (connections to other planets in your birth chart) further delineate and define your physical appearance.
Look towards the Descendant, or 7th house cusp, its ruler and its aspects. The 7th house is the house of all partnerships including marriage, legal contracts, and the house of open enemies or the Defendant in a law suit.
In relationships, Sagittarius♐   has planetary rulership with expansive Jupiter♃  . Whatever Jupiter touches, expands. If you have a Sagittarius Ascendant, you are jovial, friendly, philosophical, and an independent thinker and tend to attract lively, youthful partners with a flair for words.

With Mercury ruled Gemini♊   on the descendant you seek an affable, fun-loving, youthful and witty partner. Attraction to a partner with those qualities who is younger, intelligent, sociable, fickle, a natural born communicator is likely. It is quite possible to attract a second partner or marriage later in life with this placement. In both male and female charts, the tendency to attract a teacher or mentor type is possible as well as meeting another who appears androgynous in some way.

One of the first things to look at when provided birth data of a potential partner, is their Mercury placement, since Mercury rules your descendant. If Mercury is favorably aspected in your partners chart, those communicative benefits are brought into your relationship with him or her. Your own Mercury placement and the aspects it makes to other planets demonstrates the way you approach communicating relationship needs as well.
A Sagittarius Ascendant may attract a partner with Mercury prominent in their chart. Mercury would form favorable aspects to the Sun, Moon, Mars or Venus, or elevated in conjunction to the MC (10th house), IC (4th house), conjunct or ruling their Ascendant (Gemini/Virgo) or Descendant. The Sun sign in Gemini or Virgo are other possibilities.
Knowing the date, time and place of birth is important in making the determination for the Rising sign. This cusp sets up all other house cusps that divide chart houses and areas of life.

☆♥*♥☆ Long Snows Moon~Elk ☆♥*♥☆

In Native American Astrology, those born from November 22nd~December 21st are born under the Long Snows Moon and their animal totem is the Elk. Their color is black and obsidian is their totem in the mineral kingdom. Obsidian is a type of volcanic glass that is usually shiny like glass. It has razor-sharp edges and therefore should always be “handled carefully.Obsidian was used in carvings and for jewelry as well as for mirrors. It was also crafted for use in arrowheads. Because obsidian comes from deep within the earth it is said to be grounding.

Believed to be an intense metaphysical stone which should always be used with care, Obsidian is best used under the guidance of a trained crystal healer. As a "glass" it is inherently "unstable".  As a protective stone, its power lies in its ability to absorb and transform negative energies.

Fractures, Mt. Etna, Sicily
Elk people are very similar to the properties of obsidian. They can be good mirrors for other people as well as “projecting their stuff” onto others. They are often rough around the edges or difficult to get to know because of an uneven outer surface. Elk people can be very protective of those they love or from “perceived” danger. “They try to get as many cows as they can into their harem, and they will fervently defend them from the approaches of any other male” (Sun Bear and Wabun).

Elk are introspective and clairvoyant.  Incredibly strong and elegant, they are perhaps one of the most regal in the deer family. Men of this totem are competitive with each other about the women in their lives.  They may be prone to fits of rage or jealousy that may come as a surprise to those close to them.

Are you an Elk person?  How does Elk energy resonate with you?

☆♥*♥☆Planetary Sagittarius☆♥*♥☆

If you have your…

Ascendant in Sagittarius♐ : Sagittarius rising folks are freedom loving and independent. With Jupiter as your ruling planet you are often quite lucky. You’re generally friendly and sincere yet can also be impatient, indulgent, and reckless. Sagittarius rising individuals usually have a cheerful disposition and a friendly smile. Marriage and partnership isn’t a priority with this placement, yet may tie the knot in an early marriage, then form another significant relationship later in life.

Moon in Sagittarius♐ : Moon in Sagittarius is charming and affable. You seem to make friends wherever you go. Your judgment is keen and you adapt easily to changing circumstances. You enjoy exploring and learning and usually have a wonderful sense of humor. There is an emotional desire for freedom.  Your mother may have shared spiritual and philosophical values early in your life.

Mercury in Sagittarius♐ : Here you are quick witted and intelligent! Very outspoken, you have foot in mouth disease! Brutally honest, and are sometimes tactless when sharing the truth, or your version of it. Yours is a restless mind that loves to learn and explore new horizons, beliefs, religions, travelling far and wide, physically or metaphorically, sampling all life has to offer.

Venus in Sagittarius♐ : Values a partner who is adventurous and exciting, perhaps sharing athletic hobbies and interests. Attracted to romance, there may be difficulty in sustaining it resulting from unrealistic expectations of perfection and the belief there is more "out there".  Love of travel, possible attraction to foreign cultures, possible.  Horse lover.

Mars in Sagittarius♐ : Mars in this sign is courageous, passionate, and sensual. Mars in Sagittarius may be impulsive, quick witted, alluring, and highly attracted to erotic adventures.  This placement may be the crusader, activist, explorer, or fanatic.

☆♥*♥☆Families & Pets in Distress☆♥*♥☆ Part 1

Hi Everyone, ❤

In recent weeks, many people have contacted me about the subject of their pets.  Their inquiries were not about what they can do to care for their pets during economic or other perceived hardships, but how to find an animal shelter, or if I "knew anyone" who would take their beloved pets for "reasons beyond their control" for which no one would disclose.  The rationalizations and justifications for surrendering  a pet are rather sickening. We live in a disposable society and the mindset of so many is that "when the going gets tough, the tough gets going".  By that I mean that whatever people don't want to deal with, be responsible for, they simply discard, including living, breathing, sentient beings, our beloved fur babies.
=(^.^)=
The topic of "surrendering" a pet, is highly charged, at least for me. Animals are not disposable objects. They are not a piece of trash or garbage.  They are not a used paper cup. They are not the latest designer fad to be discarded and replaced tomorrow.  The are not objects to abuse and use.  They are living, breathing, feeling, and acutely sensitive beings with feelings of attachment to their owners.  Cats and dogs feel distress when separated from those they love and who are familiar to them.  They feel distress when separated from other animals they grew in proximity and are familiar with.  They feel depressed and anxious, yet recover, from a physical move, when they are considered in that move, yet so many insensitive and selfish individuals leave their pets behind when they move; many dumped on the street, in the woods or in a box on a busy highway to fend for themselves.  Out of sight, out of mind is their mindset.

Ignorance is bliss.

Yet for that pet, one who has often only known the comfort of a warm home, a dish full of food, a cozy bed, and human contact, this abandonment is absolutely devastating. Dogs and cats become depressed and emotionally despondent.  They may be forced to succumb to environmental elements, cold, heat, and rain.  They are subjected to traffic, cars, unkind people, and wild animals. Their once healthy immune system becomes compromised, predisposing the pet to illness and disease. Many become sick, develop ear and eye infections, starve and die, even in a shelter or in the hands of a "High-Kill Shelter" that euthanizes pets on a weekly basis "to make room for more".  The types of shelters will be discussed in another part of this series.
=(^.^)=
It is my understanding that the average cat may live for up to 18-22 years while the average dog's lifespan is approximately 12 years (some breeds live as few as 6 years while other breeds may live to 15-20 years).  Some cats and dogs, like humans, are simply predisposed to live shorter lives.

When an individual adopts a cute little kitten or puppy, they often do so on a whim or impulse with little understanding about the long term "commitment" and"responsibility"required.  Kittens are fun, little fur balls.  However, kittens grow  from kitten-hood into adulthood, just as an infant moves through toddler hood and through the school years.  Little puppies grow into larger dogs.  These developmental changes are natural, yet people who adopt kittens and puppies often lack the awareness that their responsibilities for that cute pet changes over time.
=(^.^)=
Adopting a cat or dog means taking those responsibilities seriously for the life of that pet, in sickness and in health.

How many animals enter animal shelters each year? And how many are euthanized?

"The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) estimates that animal shelters care for 6-8 million dogs and cats every year in the United States, of whom approximately 3-4 million are euthanized. At this time, there is no central data reporting agency for animal shelters, so these numbers are estimates; however, the Asilomar Accords method is gaining momentum as a standard for more accurately tracking these numbers. Annual statistics for approximately 150 shelters across the country are posted at www.asilomaraccords.org. You can help them develop a more accurate picture of the problem by encouraging your local shelters to report their data."  ~ The Humane Society of United States

Why are so many pets surrendered to shelters, or worse, dumped in the street?

1. Physical move, relocation, and people leave their pets behind (this has become epidemic)
2. Suddenly Allergic (could be after several years)
3. Doesn't want a pet anymore: can be for any reason imaginable
4. Too much work ie: inconvenience, responsibilities, annoyed with pet
5. Cost (to be discussed in greater detail below and in future blogs)
7. Marriage, new partner  (I use the LIFO method: last in~first out, easy :-)
8. Parents don't want anymore, used as punishment against child or child goes to college
9. Current spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend doesn't want or like
10. Hoarding situations
11. Death of a human caregiver
12. Lost and Found
13. Animals used in fights or as "bait" and rescued
14. Jealousy of pet by a new partner
15. Pet is sick: a cold, skin rash~rather than treat, they simply dispose of to become more ill.
16. Woman becomes pregnant, birth of a child. (Perhaps your parents should have disposed of YOU when your little brother/sister arrived on the scene!
=(^.^)=
Note:  The average cost to feed a dog is  approximately .67 cents/per day while the cost to feed a cat is only .44 cents/per day. While considering these costs, let's discuss the daily spending habits of many people, at least where I live. For comparison sake, the average woman spends between $20-50 every other week or twice a month on their nails (manicures/pedicures).  It costs less than $14/per month to feed a cat yet many will give up the cat because "they can't afford it" rather than give up the unnecessary manicure.
=(^.^)=
What about the millions of cups of coffee purchased on the way to work at the local Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts on a weekly basis? Most people spend approximately $2.00 for their morning cup of Java yet happily surrender their pet because of their "economic situation".  That daily cup of coffee ends up costing more than $10 per week and can feed a dog for 15 days.
=(^.^)=
Shall we discuss the cost of a pack of cigarettes or a bottle of beer or alcoholic beverage?   I'll bet the same people hovering over the bar during "Happy Hour" each week are also moaning about the cost of feeding their pet, while feeding their addiction instead. Seriously folks, I'm not even going to go there.  Denial is a nice fuzzy warm blanket.
=(^.^)=
Later in this series, the reasons people surrender or abandon pets, as indicated above, will be expanded upon to provide insight and guidance into prevention.  I will also share cost effective methods for both feeding and caring for your pet.
=(^.^)=
In the meantime, for those of you on Facebook, there are two Applications you may have interest in.  Save a Cat (SAC) and Save a Dog (SAD) offer photos of pets around the United States and Canada who have been surrendered to various shelters.  Each pet is photographed with the date of surrender, their age and name (if known), breed and location.  With every click on a photo, points are offered and accumulated.  The collection of points goes towards feeding shelter animals, veterinarian care, and finding foster or forever homes.  With each click, that individual cat/dog receives attention.  The more attention drawn towards each cat or dog, the more likely it will find a person to adopt it.  Attention also PREVENTS killing.  Please click to feed and save a life:

Lastly, I am grateful for all the new rescue friends, both men and women, who devote time on a daily basis to saving cats and dogs on Facebook.  The work they all do is phenomenal, and it is because of them the devastated  lives of these saddened pets are improved and even saved.  Namaste'  ❤

Please share your own rescue stories. If you are aware of an animal in need please share that so that help may be located for that pet .Remember to give to those less fortunate. If you see a stray animal needing food, water or care, please help those who are unable to help themselves. One day it may be you who requires care. If you want to learn more about Save a Cat or Save a Dog e-mail at Fuchsiastars@aol.com.
