☆♥*♥☆ Deer People~Butterfly Clan ☆♥*♥☆

Complanting Moon (Deer)
by Lorraine Valente

In Native American Astrology, those born from May 21~June 20th are born under the Complanting Moon and their animal totem is the Deer. Their colors are green and white and they are included in the Butterfly Elemental Clan.

Deer people possess natural healing abilities and are usually very intuitive. They have sensitive hearing and do not like loud noises. Deer are gentle, loving, and kind animals. They have the ability to create items of beauty from very ordinary objects and are resourceful individuals. Deer people also make good friends. They are very lively and articulate speakers. They have an unusually high, buoyant energy level. Deer are also known for their beauty, grace, sexuality and cunning. Deer is the epitome of both masculine and feminine energy as is suggestive of their dual nature. Deer have the ability to captivate others with their eloquent speech as well as with their beautiful bodies.

As part of the Butterfly Clan, this increases their chance for “flitting” from one flower to the next or from one idea to another examining each and every nuance as they flutter and collect along the way.

Have a wonderful week~!  Remember, I'm available for consultations and readings 7 days via phone, e-mail or in-person.

♥*♥ The Lovers~Number VI~Gemini ♥*♥

By Lorraine Valente

The Lovers card depicts the unclothed bodies of two lovers, a man and a woman. They bare their souls’ to each other. The man gazes upon the woman while the woman looks up to the spirit, Archangel Gabriel. As the angel hovers over the couple, arms and wings spread as if blessing the pair. The sun shines above his head, bringing warmth and security and light. The leaves on the tree mirror the hair on the Angels head…a symbol of the fires of passion burning deep within the lovers’ soul. This sun and fire is also symbolic of our life force and our impulse to create. The fertile grass beneath their feet, and fruit on the tree suggests growth and happiness.

However, as with every the card in the deck and aspects in a birth chart, there can be negative manifestations symbolic with this card. The snake coiled in the tree behind the woman is a gentle reminder of the story of Adam and Eve and the temptations we may be faced with. There are 3 people in this card…not two. In this regard, the third person could be an intruder to the relationship.

☆♥*♥☆ Happy Birthday Gemini!☆♥*♥☆

For those born between May 20/21st~June 19th, The Key Phrase is: I Think.

The astrological glyph is the Twins. Gemini is a mutable (malleable, flexible), air (intellect, detached, fleeting) sign located in the 1st quadrant (self oriented/personal) of the Eastern Hemisphere of the chart. Because Gemini resides in the 3rd house of the zodiac and is ruled by the planet Mercury, communication, thoughts and learning are most important to Gemini. Your birthstone is the Emerald. Intellectual stimulation is as basic to a Gemini as family and children are to a Cancererian. There is an inherent need to know and understand just about everything. The sign of Aries inhabits the 1st house of the natural zodiac. That first house is the cusp of the Ascendant or the Rising Sign. Because Gemini arrives immediately after the earthy 2nd house Taurus who asks, “What should I possess or own and how will I meet my security issues”? Gemini desires to communicate and formulate ideas about what those security needs are and to present them to others; most often in the early school years when we accumulate a lot of information about life and the world in a short time frame. Gemini wants to collect data and information about everything. It is not uncommon for Gemini to be watching television, listening to music, and reading a book all at the same time!

☆♥*♥☆ Mindfulness Meditation ☆♥*♥☆

Last summer, I enrolled in an eight week Mindfulness Meditation course. Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) combines the use of mindfulness meditation (attention) and yoga. MBSR benefits people who have suffered from various chronic disorders and diseases. Mindfulness cultivates a greater awareness and attention to reactions of the mind and body, as well as tapping into unconscious thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that sabotage emotional, physical, and spiritual health. We become what we think about and thoughts can harm or heal.

Meditation has been shown to positively alter many autonomic physiological processes, such as lowering blood pressure and emotional reactivity. Mindfulness teaches attention to or attending to our inner processes, another or a thing. When we slow down our immediate gut level responses, not only do we appreciate differences but see nuances we would usually miss. In the "must see" film Avatar, the Na' vi greet each other a bit differently than most. Upon meeting it is customary to lock eyes and utter the words "I see you" (Cameron, 2009). Their deep, intuitive inner knowing exemplifies the concept of mindfulness. It involves attending to one's inner feelings and behavior and the feelings and behavior's of others with deep understanding. It's a form of respect." I see you" is the equivalent of, "I see your Soul".

Compulsive behaviors compromise mindfulness (Brown & Ryan, 2003). The Type A personality is generally outwardly focused not attending to their inner signals, the intuitive body. This form of consciousness or awareness corresponds to what has been called emotional intelligence, clarity of one's emotional states. If we are aware of our emotional states, we can pause before reacting, or overreacting resulting in less stress.

Mindfulness meditation is an excellent tool for learning to assist individuals with anxiety, stress, anger, eating disorders, and recovery from many addictions. When we are introspective, knowledge in gained, and perspective is enhanced through the inner journey. It is through introspection that healing occurs.

The video below is explains mindfulness quite well. I hope you enjoy it.
