☆♥*♥☆Let's Talk About Sex & Eros!☆♥*♥☆

Bouguereau's 1895 "Abduction of Psyche"
Now that I have your undivided attention.... :-)

Asteroid Eros is currently transiting 18 degrees of inventive Aquarius and Mars will be hooking up with Eros very soon!

“Eros has sex for the intimacy and power it brings and for the potential to transform by touching the divine soul of another, at whatever cost”(Falconer, 2004). It is Eros who soars all over the earth, equipped with his bow and arrow, “bewitching” all the arrow strikes. The symbolism is such that erotic love and passion strikes when least expected. The way we respond to these sudden feelings are dependent on temperament and individual evolution. Does life lives become chaotic and unpredictable? Do we become obsessed and possessed by these passions? Eros transits may indicate areas of life where erotic love and passion awaken the senses and possess transformative power.

Martha Lang-Westcott’s Mechanics of the Future~Asteroids, says this of Eros: “Eros represents what turns us on and defines sexual interest. It is the essential element of the survival instinct, and for this reason, it is often prominent in death charts when the “drive to love” is shadowed by transit and/or directions or progressions".

What motivates, empowers or drives a person is where Eros is located in the birth chart.  Eros is the asteroid of eroticism yet may be where we become obsessed, what we are passionate about.  Some question aren't all obsessions/passions unhealthy?  If utilized in a healthful way, passion propels to strive for what's fulfilling.  Without an "obsession" or passionate focus to succeed, doctors would never practice medicine, lawyers would not pass the Bar Exam to practice law, painters could not create, and poets would not write. It takes a certain amount of angst, perseverance, and passionate focus to succeed in any area of life. Where Eros is located in the natal is where we are passionately attached; where passions emanate.

Eros is a symbol of both erotic and sexual love yet we must remember what the underlying dynamic of erotic love is the creative impulse. We can transmute sexual desires into works of art (Van Gogh), inventions or writings.  Eros is a state of mind.   House location in the chart is where we are most passionate; what we are passionate about. This may be a hobby or interest that brings success because we tend to place focus on our Eros.

Do you know where Asteroid Eros is located in your birth chart? In synastry; chart compatibility, if your Eros is conjunct or opposite your partners, Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Neptune, Uranus, Pluto or their Name asteroid (yes, there is likely  an asteroid named after yourself!) this will prove another indication of erotic/sexual attraction/love.

When Eros is conjunct (in the same degree) Psyche, you have likely found your Soul Mate as Eros and Psyche were mythical ancient Lovers. According to Guttman and Johnson (1996), this is a story of love (Eros) in search of a soul (Psyche) and a soul in search of love. This myth is highly symbolic of marriage even in these contemporary times. With starry eyes we find our mates. After awhile we dare to look and see them as they really are; disillusionment sets in. Whether the separation is emotional or physical, it somehow occurs. The partnership goes through tests, trials, and challenges and thus discovers how strong the bond or union actually is. If strong, it survives these challenges, and becomes better and stronger than ever. Like Eros and Psyche at the end of their story, we are happily reunited as equals in the mating game (Guttman & Johnson, 1996). Soul Mate relationships often bring tests and lessons in relating.

With Uranus direct, expect the unexpected!!

Enjoy your day and if you would like to learn more about this topic scedule a phone or e-mail consultation.

☆♥*♥☆New Moon Scorpio Solar Eclipse☆♥*♥☆

Dear Stargazers:

On October 23, 2014, there is a partial New Moon Solar Eclipse at 00' degrees of Scorpio.  Scorpio is the sign symbolic of the scorpion, serpent, eagle, phoenix, and dove; stages of psychological growth and regneration.

Both Mars and Pluto rule over contagious and infectious disease.  With Pluto, currently transiting Capricorn, and Mars transiting Out-of-Bounds (OOB) in Sagittarius less than 15 degrees apart, the likelihood of disease related outbreaks increases. The recent reported cases of Ebola confirm the possibility.

The connection of Scorpio to the underworld is widely known and Earth eruptions are also possible.  Because Scorpio is a Water sign, we may see a very wet fall or issues surrounding water or the quality of water.  The skies opened up in New Jersey with heavy rains and severe flooding.
With Mars and Pluto traveling so closely, in a tense square to Uranus, expect the unexpected in the news yet don't believe everything you read or hear.

In medical astrology, Scorpio rules over the sex organs and procreation. It also rules the elimination process and the organs associated with that process ie: the colon. Blockages this his area may be emotional and/or psychological.  Scorpio is known to hold grudges and seek revenge.  I saw a post on Facebook that reminded me of Scorpio.  It was a "Karma Frog" sitting in a cross-legged yoga position.  The associated text was: "No need for revenge.  Just sit back and wait.  Those who hurt you will screw themselves." So Scorpio, what do you think about letting go to allow the Universe to take care of it? Break free by re-leasing negative thoughts and feelings.

"I'm stronger than I've been before
This is the part when I break free

'Cause I can't resist it no more.

~ Ariana Grande feat. Zedd, "Break Free"

An hour prior to the eclipse, Venus, planet of love, beauty, attraction, strife, daughters, females, and talent, leaves relationship seeking Libra entering Scorpio, the same degree of the eclipse.  A Venus eclipse is a gentle reminder of the Law of Attraction; whatever is intensely focused on is attracted into one's life. Stay centered in love.
As a reminder, Mercury is still inching backwards in the sign of Libra asking us to re-visit, re-flect and re-vise re-lationships that no longer soothe the Soul, or serve Mother Earth.  On Saturday, October 25th, Mercury stations, then moves direct on the Islamic New Year.  The very next day, Sunday the 26th, energy changes again when Mars enters Saturn-ruled Capricorn, (the military) and where its hard work and perseverance pay off. It is important to stay centered and aware when Mercury moves forward and planets change signs.

Who is effected? Individuals stimulated by this eclipse are Scorpio/Taurus (opposites), and Leo/ Aquarius (opposites) or anyone with 00 degrees in their natal, give or take 3 degrees before or after will be triggered. Solar Eclipse energy offers signs up to a month prior and may have an effect in one's life for as long as 18 months.  Solar eclipses tend to bring people, places, and things (events) into form.  I look forward to hearing how the eclipse affects you so feel free to post your own Eclipse stories below.

☆♥*♥☆Aquarius/Leo Relationship Axis☆♥*♥☆

Aquarius/Leo Relationship Axis

Ascendant/Descendant (1st house/7th house)

Knowing the sign of partners 7th house cusp (the relationship house) and the ruler of that house indicates the type of partner you may attract, who you're attracted to, and the method of relating within that relationship.

The Ascendant, or Rising sign, is the sign rising on the horizon at the time of birth. This is the face we show the world, our “mask” for which our Sun hides behind. This is our outer personality, temperament, and disposition as well as how we experienced our early home environment growing up. It is the way others see us and also gives indication of our physical appearance. The ruler of the Ascendant and the aspects (connections to other planets in your birth chart) further delineate and define your physical appearance.

The Descendant, 7th house cusp, its ruler, and the aspects it makes in the natal, symbolize the type of partner you may be attracted to or that you attract into your life. The 7th house attracts all partnerships including marriage and legal contracts yet is also considered the house of open enemies or the Defendant in a law suit.

Aquarius' modern ruler is Uranus and karmic Saturn the ancient ruler. If your Ascendant is Aquarius, you appear honest and truthful. Friendships are easily formed because you're an inventive, interesting conversationalist. You're appearance, style and attire is unique and "different". Because you're a fixed sign, although you are quite fair and tolerant, may also be inflexible and impatient. Interestingly, you are apt to be so friendly, enjoy the company of friends and friendly banter, yet other's are confused because you're completely happy alone.
Your partner may not "get you" or understand your possible aloof and/or erratic nature. With Solar ruled Leo on the descendant, you seek a loyal, outgoing, confident partner, one who will be your best friend. Respect is important. Attraction to a partner with those qualities who is outgoing and a good parent is likely. Independent Aquarians thrive when not feeling tied down

One of the first astrological qualities you may seek in a potential partner, is their Sun placement since the Sun rules your descendant. It is also possible for an Aquarian Ascendant to attract a partner who has Uranus or Saturn prominent in their chart. Prominent Uranus or Saturn would be in aspect to the Sun, Moon, Mars or Venus, or elevated in conjunction to the MC (10th house cusp)or IC (4th house cusp) conjunct or ruling their Ascendant or Descendant or Sun sign in Aquarius.

Knowing the date, time, and place of birth is necessary to determine the Ascendant. This cusp sets up all other cusps; the divisions of  houses or areas of life.

☆♥☆ Year of the Horse 2014 ☆♥☆

According to the Chinese Zodiac, 2014 is the Year of the Horse which begins on Jan. 31, 2014 and lasts through Feb. 18, 2015.

This powerful New Year is filled with so much movement. First, it is preceded by today's Crisis New Moon at 11 degrees Aquarius. Second, Mercury enters the mutable (changeable) sign of Pisces.  At 3:49pm Eastern Daylight in the United States, Venus, planet of love, beauty, values, earnings, talent and potentialities, stations direct after her backward journey which began December 31, 2013 at 28+ degrees of Capricorn, moving forward at 13 degrees in the sign of the Goat. Venus has been smoldering since her hook-up with Pluto opposing Jupiter in Cancer.

Horse Personality

Positively, people born in the year of the horse are entertaining, playful, animated, active and energetic. Horses enjoy being the center of attention and usually attract an audience wherever they are. Freedom-loving, clever horse people also tend towards a wonderful sense of humor which they use freely to entertain the masses, or their intimate circle of friends. When I visited New Orleans for the UAC conference, horse drawn carriages lined Jackson Square, a lovely, quaint park attracting readers of all kinds at dusk.  I remembered that horses like sugar and saved a bagful of confectionary sugar from Cafe' du Monde to feed them.  In addition to sugary, sweet goodies, horses are grazing vegetarians!
Jackson Square, New Orleans~by Author
Negatively, Horse people can be extremely impatient, arrogant, wild, and hot headed!  Temper, temper!  It's okay when they horse around with you yet when the wheels turn, horse doesn't want you horsing around with them! Warm by nature, Horse is a wonderful companion animal...and well, is there an animal sexier than a Horse?

Horse people, you are strutting your stuff this year!

"Hey I heard you are a wild one.... I heard you like the wild ones...
I am a wild one, break me in,
Saddle me up and let's begin.
I am a wild one, tame me now.
Running with wolves and I'm on the prowl."

~ Wild Ones - Flo Rida
Horse History

According to D. J. Conway's Animal Magick, "The Muslims call the horse a "god-sent" animal, believing it can prophesy, foresee danger, and see the dead. Among the Norse and Northern Germans, the horse was sacred to Odin" and ancient Swedish Kings were torn apart in sacrifice by the horse-masked priestess of Freya, who was said to be able to transform herself into a mare. Freya was also guardian and protector of cats who are frequently seen living in horse stables and barns.

Horse transformed humanity when it was domesticated and became a vehicle for movement and long distant travel. Symbolically, Horse allows us to "journey" thereby expanding awareness and perception.

☆♥☆2014 Epiphany and a Burning Bowl☆♥☆

The 12th day after Christmas, January 6th, is the day of Epiphany. This year, Epiphany occurs 5 days after the January 1st, New Year  Crisis New Moon at 10 Capricorn 57' (11 degrees).  A New Moon is the dark of the Moon, it cannot yet be seen in the sky.  It is a time to rest, wait, ruminate, and visualize that which you desire to materialize in the future, on a Full Moon.

This Epiphany chart contains 4 planets in Capricorn: Pluto, Sun, Mercury and a retrograde Venus with Mercury out-of-bounds (OOB).  Mars in Venus-ruled Libra squares the Sun and opposes Uranus in Aries, offering a lot of Cardinal energy. Cardinal energy is action oriented, self directed, perhaps haphazard at times, making mundane news headlines on a daily basis.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An epiphany is a realization, an "aha" moment or an inner sense of illumination of a thing or feeling that was not previously felt or known. It is the comprehension of the essence of a thing, as in a discovery.  In some cultures it is a time for baking of the King’s cake. It is a celebration for The Three Kings or Three Wise Men's visit to baby Jesus. According to an old legend based on a Bible story, these three Kings saw, on the night when Christ was born, a bright star, and followed it to Bethlehem. There the Christ-child was discovered and he was presented with gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
Epiphany is a time of ritual and celebration. One such ritual is a Burning Bowl Ceremony, also performed during Eclipses and New Moons. This ceremony provides an opportunity to meditate and reflect on aspects of life, behavior patterns, thought forms, beliefs and perspectives that are no longer useful or serve ones higher good.  They are released in preparation for entrance into a new cycle.

Starting your Epiphany ritual, it is important to prepare your space. Burning sage cleanses negative energy and also your aura. If sage isn't a favorite, simply fan the air around your body and space, opening windows briefly as it's quite cold where many people live this time of the year.

Reiki practitioners may send a special "symbol" into each corner of the room. Sprinkling your favorite essential oil (my preference is Lavender) connects its scent to a memory feeling. Then take a moment to quiet your mind, your thoughts, connecting to your heart, Guides, and Angels, and physically write down what you are leaving behind; what needs to be released. Feelings may surface when you're letting go of something or someone you have held onto for too long.  Let it go. Take a deep breath in, then exhale and center again. It is easy to use tiny pieces of paper or small post-it notes and write one thought on each slip or note. After writing want you want to release, place them in a fireproof bowl, possibly an abalone shell or brass urn, and allow it to burn. Let them all go. Let them burn, vanishing from your life. Poof~! Gone, up in smoke~!
After you have released what is no longer useful, take a moment to quiet your thoughts again and focus on what you want to bring into your life. Do you want to create  a new career?  A new relationship?  Peace?  Take a deep breath in, then exhale, and center. Once again, write each desire on small pieces of paper.

Intentions with excited emotion bring them quickly into your life, so get happy~! *smile* Remember a time and place where you felt absolutely amazing, joyful and content. Focus on these feelings as you're writing your intentions. Allow yourself to get caught up in your imagination, thinking of your perfect future.

 "I want and I have".

These new intentions may be kept either in a space on your altar, a small pouch, bag or in a cup, or any special place. I keep new intentions in a tiny pouch inside my wallet and periodically change them when those intentions have been obtained . You may also choose to burn them, sending their energy into the Universe. The choice is yours. Remember to give thanks for all you do have.
*I am grateful for....* *Thank you Universe...*

Settled, knowing that outmoded, limiting thoughts and perceptions have been replaced with progressively new, growth-oriented intentions, these new perspectives feel exciting, soothing, comforting, and cathartic. Now you feel amazing, grounded, fantastic, wonderful, happy, awesome, and Divinely blessed. New beginnings await you...many blessings...

Let there be  Peace on Earth....
