☆ ♥*♥☆Epiphany~12 Days after Christmas☆ ♥*♥☆

The 12th day after Christmas, January 6th, is the day of Epiphany. Epiphany occurs only 2 days before the January 9^th  Full Cancer ♋Moon culmination at 18+ degrees.  An epiphany is a realization, an aha or that inner sense of illumination of a thing or feeling that was not there previously. It's the comprehension of the essence of a thing, as in a discovery. In some cultures it's a time for baking of the King’s cake. It is a celebration for The Three Kings or Three Wise Men. According to an old legend based on a Bible story, these three Kings saw, on the night when Christ was born, a bright star✯, and followed it to Bethlehem. There the Christ-child was discovered and he was presented with gold, frankincense, and myrrh.


Epiphany is a time of ritual and celebration. One such ritual is a Burning Bowl Ceremony, also performed during Eclipses and New Moons. This ceremony provides an opportunity to meditate and reflect on aspects of life, behaviors, thought forms, beliefs and perspectives that are no longer useful and then release them in preparation for entrance into a new cycle. 


Starting your Epiphany ritual, first prepare your space. Burning sage cleanses negative energy and your aura. If sage isn't a favorite, simply fan the air around your body and space, opening windows briefly as it's quite cold where many  reside. Reiki practitioners may send a special "symbol" into each corner of the room. Sprinkling your favorite essential oil (my preference is Lavender) connects its scent to a memory feeling. Then take a moment to quiet your thoughts, connecting to your heart, Guides, and Angels and write what you are leaving behind; what's being released. Take a deep breath in, then exhale and center again. I'll use tiny pieces of paper or small post-its and write one thought on each slip. After writing want you want to release, place them in a fireproof bowl and allow it to burn. Let them all go. Let them burn, vanishing from your life. Poof~! Gone, up in smoke~!

After you've released what is no longer useful, take a moment to quiet your thoughts and focus on what you want to bring into your life. Take a deep breath in, then exhale, and center. Again, write each of them down on small pieces of paper. Intentions with excited emotion bring them quickly into your life, so get happy~! *smile* Remember a time and place where you felt absolutely amazing, joyful and content. Focus on these feelings as you're writing your intentions. Allow yourself to get caught up in your imagination, thinking of your perfect future. "I want and I will have". These new intentions may be kept either in a space on your altar, a small pouch, bag or in a cup, or any special place. I keep new intentions in a tiny pouch inside my wallet and periodically change them when I have obtained what I want. You may also choose to burn them, sending their energy into the Universe. The choice is yours. Remember to give thanks for all you do have. *I am grateful for....* *Thank you Universe...* ❤   

Settled, knowing that outmoded, limiting thoughts and perceptions have been replaced with progressively new, growth-oriented intentions, these new perspectives feel exciting, soothing, comforting and cathartic. Now you feel amazing, grounded, fantastic, wonderful, happy, awesome, and Divinely blessed. New beginnings await you...many blessings...

On January 4th, we're experiencing another Eclipse, this time a New Moon Solar Eclipse at 13 38' degrees of Capricorn, technically 14 degrees.  This Eclipse is part of the Saros Series of Eclipses called 13 North.  According to Bernadette Brady, "this is an eclipse family of groups and associations.  Its energy is about large, ambitious group projects.  These group projects will require separation or the breaking of a bond that already exists.  The individual may well experience this eclipse initially as a separation and then as joint achievement."  The chart for the eclipse incorporates the energy of 4 planets (Pluto, Sun, Moon, Mars), Pallas and the Node all in disciplined Capricorn.  Their ruling planet, Saturn, is in Libra and Libra's ruler Venus, is in passionate Scorpio and Scorpio's dual ruler's Mars and Pluto are in Capricorn!  There's some serious discussion going on "up there" about partnerships, groups, relationships and what's valued, what's important.

New Moon energy is about beginnings, starting something new, initiation.  Three days before the New Moon is the Balsamic phase, also called the "Wishing" Moon.  It's a time to focus intentions on what you desire and want to bring into your life, not a time of initiation. Initiating is best saved for the Crescent phase, when the Moon is clearly visible.  Remember........

☆♥*♥☆Mercury Retrograde (rx)☆♥*♥☆

Dear Stargazers...

Gemini and Virgo ruled Mercury is turning retrograde (apparent backward motion) on Friday, August 20th at 3:59 EDT, for 3 1/2 weeks.

What can we experience? Disruptions in communications, forgetfulness, electronic mishaps, the fax you sent didn't go through even though you re-ceived a confirmation re-ceipt, travel delays, return of the "exe's".  Yes, it's true, people who you thought were out of your life forever, suddenly return with something else to say.  Sometimes past lovers "re-concile" after "re-evaluating" their "re-lationship" when Mercury backs up.

How to best handle Mercury rx? It's best to not make major decisions or sign important contracts, purchase new electrical equipment or shoes.  If you absolutely must make decisions, do so on contingency and read all legal documents at least 3 times! Back up important computer documents and be mindful of yours and others words and actions.

Here are some keywords for Mercury rx:

Re-vival, re-pair, re-vise, re-turn, re-word, re-phrase, re-ctify, re-voke, re-newal, re-birth, re-view, re-late, re-lationships, re-alization, re-conciliation, re-moval (of negativity, outmoded ideas, etc.), re-visit, re-vamp, re-novate, re-do, re-juvenate, re-flect, re-generate, re-ceive, and most importantly, re-lax!

August 1, 2010: Mercury entered the pre-shadow at 05 degrees Virgo.

August 20, 2010: Mercury retrogrades (rx) at 19 degrees Virgo.

September 12, 2010: Mercury turns direct at 05 degrees Virgo.

December 10, 2010: Mercury retrogrades at 05 degrees Capricorn.

"Coincidentally" when Mercury turned direct at 05 degrees of Capricorn on January 15, 2010, it was conjunct the degree of the June 26, 2010 Partial Lunar Eclipse! Mercury will turn retrograde again, on December 10th, also at 5 degrees of Capricorn. Mercury and its associated symbolism has been prominent during the year and for these dynamic Eclipse cycles. The 5th degree would have been triggered by these important planetary energies in your own birth chart!

Our lovely Moon enters nurturing Cancer 5:50pm EDT, while Venus changes signs to relationship-oriented Libra at 11:47pm EDT. These entries activate the June 26th Lunar Eclipse at 4 degrees of Capricorn. It you have planets, within 2 degrees on either side, especially an exact degree, these transits have a message for you.  Sooooo.... the cosmic cohorts are: the Moon forming a tense square to Venus, Uranus, Saturn, and Jupiter before integrating the opposing intensity of Pluto.

On Monday, August 9th, 11:08pm EDT, the New Moon is at 17 + degrees of Leo.  If you have any planets 2 degrees on either side this New Moon, it speaks to you!  Later in the week on the 13th, iconoclast Uranus at 00 Aries turns retrograde (rx) until December 5th.

Remember..3 days before the New Moon on August 9th is the balsamic phase. This phase is also called the Wishing Moon..............
