☆♥*♥☆ Spider Wisdom ~ Arachne ☆♥*♥☆

I hope all the father's, and the mother's and others who also fill that role, had a wonderful day.

Today was a beautiful day in New Jersey; the Sun shined brightly and an ever so light breeze bathed the landscape, gently caressing each bloom that appears to have been smiling towards its rays.  I caught the glimpse of a spider, doing what spiders do, apparently suspended in the process of creating his net-like web. A photo was taken for you here. 

Its legs are so fragile and spindly, yet all spiders are predators by nature.  Many have the ability to paralyze their prey with venom, a form of chemical that stuns, kills, and pre-digests its victim, according to Palmer, 2001.  It is difficult to see his web of creation as it is virtually invisible, yet it is there, as he patiently awaits "dinner".  This spider was rather small so I'll assume it is male as female spiders are generally larger.
The Native American Indian creates an object of beauty called a dream catcher, which actually resembles a spider's web.  Dream catcher's are thought to protect infants from harm and also "catch" ones dreams. Spider is also considered a "Grandmother", link to the past and future. 

Spider is an intricate weaver, spinning life creations or veils of illusion.  Spider webs are always growing. Becuase she is associated with sex, death, magic, fate,  entrapment, communication, and illusion, she is often feared.  Spider, like the Scorpion, possess power in controlling ones destiny and subsequent fate.

Astrologically, the glyph for asteroid Arachne is that of a web.  Webs are complicated works of skillful art.  Arachne is thought to bestow skill and expertise.  There may be an attitude about that skill or expertise culminating in a certain level of prideful arrogance.  House position demostrates the area of life where complications present.  Arachne is currently transiting 11 degrees Cancer♋ 46', squaring Saturn in Libra♎. Have you noticed how many complicated relationship dramas are in the news lately?  Hugh Hefner's 25 year old girlfriend, Crystal Harris, calls off their wedding the night transiting Saturn turns direct, supposedly because she "just" realized that three is a crowd, and she wasn't having any of it.  What about Anthony Weiner's weiner Tweets, while his new wife is pregnant with their first child? What was he thinking? Today, I saw a Youtube about "Kiss" rocker Gene Simmon's partner Shannon Tweed, sick and tired of being sick and tired of his philandering ways, after 28 years (sounds like Saturn karma). "Oh, what a tangled web we weave....." 

When Spider appears on your path, notice intricate details as they offer wisdom and guidance. Growth, expansion, and breaking out of your comfort zone is indicated. There are infinite possibilities by which you may design your future.

Tarot Card # 11~Justice~Symbolic of Libra

Justice represents harmony and balance. In all the cards, we encounter positive and negatives aspects of life. There are always choices to make between right and wrong, dark and light and discovering the shades of gray in between. However, what we deem justice is contingent upon our perceptions. We learn through life's circumstances. Justice represents the balance people create in order to live a healthy and fulfilling life.

The image in this card sits a woman between 2 columns. In her right hand she holds a double-edged sword, symbolic of the mind, duality and decision-making. In her left hand are the scales of justice used to find harmony and balance. There are often conflicting elements in our lives preventing us from achieving balance. 

This card symbolizes The Universal Law of Equilibrium and pure intellect. The “Sword of Justice” eliminates waste and knows how to prioritize. Whatever direction your energy has been focused, will finally pay off.   This is another card in the deck in which "karma" is indicated. We reap what we sow. "What goes around, comes around". ☆♥*♥☆ Praying Mantis Wisdom ☆♥*♥☆

Hi Everyone,

Praying Mantis

Today, as I watered some potted plants outside, a very long, green, twig-like praying mantis sat perfectly still on a green/burgandy-colored leaf!  Only a couple of days ago I found a "Leaf Insect" on the car. Of course, I ran into the house to retreive my camera and snap a photo for you~!

The Praying Mantis remains perfectly still and has adapted to its environment by changing its color as a form of self defense.

Praying mantis’ are related to grasshoppers and crickets, belonging to a family of insects called orthoptera. It is extremely beneficial to gardens and humans because of its penchant for eating the bugs we don't want. They will eat mites, aphids and most other insects that are within the grasp of their front legs.

If Praying Mantis appears in your life, it might indicate a need to focus on yourself, meditate, pause, and be still.  Self-reflection is important. It is within the stillness  you reap the greatest rewards and enhance creativity. It is also a reminder to blend within the environment.  Camouflage your intentions and activities. Someone may be observing you. Be aware of and in touch with your intuition. Pay close attention to "signs" and synchronous events.

With Mercury backing up (retrograde) Friday in discerning Virgo, praying-mantis reinforces its message and bestows ideal wisdom.

☆♥*♥☆ Leaf Insect Wisdom ☆♥*♥☆

Leaf Insect

Yesterday afternoon, while preparing to run errands, a very large green insect was grazing on the roof of my my auto parked inside the garage.  I originally thought it to be a praying mantis, yet upon closer examination saw that it was a leaf insect! Leaf insects are very closely related to stick insects and, just as stick-insects camouflage themselves as twigs, leaf insects are superbly camouflaged as a leaf. The insect looks remarkably like a beautifully defined, veined green leaf, with tiny spindly legs and very long antennae. Its uneven edges appear as much like natural leaves as possible. They also simulate swaying in the wind by appearing to be staggering when moving if any threat is detected in their vicinity. Some leaf insects are popularly known as a walking leaf. I scooped it up in a paper towel and placed it onto an outside flowerpot.

Leaf insects are the best examples of imitation, where the animal looks like its environment. It has been said that "Imitation is the highest form of flattery".

If leaf insect walked into your life today, it may be a reminder to blend with your environment.  It might be wise to camouflage your intentions and not discuss your future plans. Prepare quietly. Be alert to deception, people pretending to be some one or some thing they are not, pretension, copying ideas, or hidden agendas. Seeing isn't always believing! Animals and insects also remind us to use successful methods and techniques when laying the ground work for initiating new ventures.

☆♥*♥☆Transformative Dragonfly~Hummingbird Charm☆♥*♥☆

During the Spring and Summer I note the first sitings of hummingbirds and dragonflies.  Birds and insects are "winged-ones" and are Divine messengers, each bestowing their own wisdom at precisely the correct time in one's life.

My first hummingbird siting was on Sunday, June 6th, mid day, the day of the Moon/Jupiter conjunction in the sign of Aries. Mercury, also a winged messenger, entered it's comfort sign, Gemini on June 10th, days before the New Gemini Moon. Like the hummingbird, Aries is quick on it's toes, or wings, energetic, and ever fleeting. When hummingbird appears, speaking your personal truth is most important as time is of the essence. Hummingbird denotes charm, flirting and joy in love and dating.  Phone calls, communications, invitations are all possibilities when hummingbird darts into your life!

For the last few days though, I've been seeing dragonfly cruising amongst flowers moistened by the sprinkler.  It has been especially hot and humid on the East coast, in the 90's. Similar to the hummingbird, dragonfly "hovers".  It's form is quite delicate and lovely, silhouetted against a vibrant floral landscape.  Dragonfly is an insect, and are fascinating creatures. Dragonfly's prism-like wings are shimmering, luminescent jewels. They captivate the onlooker and possess the ability to draw one into the illusive dream state. Dragonfly is attracted to water, symbolic of emotions, intuition, illusions and the unconscious. They adapt easily to the environment and embrace a life of change.  Transformation is their keyword and is synchronous with the theme of yesterday's Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Capricorn.  

When dragonfly appears, the message is discarding what no longer serves the common good.  If it doesn't serve your Higher self, it's unnecessary. Is someone "hovering" over you, watching you? Attend to your inner life and unconscious motivations.  Then make peace with the past in order to embrace change. Remember to drift along like the wind, follow the breeze, wherever it blows...in its infinite wisdom.... knows.
