The astrological glyph is the Twins. Gemini♊ is a mutable (malleable, flexible), air (intellect, detached, fleeting) sign located in the 1st quadrant (self oriented/personal) of the Eastern Hemisphere of the chart. Because Gemini♊ resides in the 3rd house of the zodiac and is ruled by the planet Mercury, communication, thoughts and learning are most important to Gemini. Your birthstone is the Emerald. Mental energy becomes so compressed and, like a coil, springs forth with terrific tension in order to unwind. Several cousins, my daughter and brother as well as friends are all Gemini’s. My daughter is wonderful and her temperament is so easy going. Whatever tragedy or annoyance she experiences rolls right off her shoulders, not deserving her attention. However, when she was little, her little alter ego would surface from time to time. I called this other entity “Sybil” after the book written about a woman with multiple personalities. Whenever “Sybil” surfaced, it was a complete 180 degree turn around. For a moment in time, the “evil twin” takes over! This is really perplexing to watch/experience because it’s like you’re living with an alien (for all of 5 minutes). They must experience information overload and need an outlet for all that condensed mental energy! ☄

Gemini’s♊ are also distinguishable by their youthful exuberance. Gemini always looks a bit younger than their chronological age and they are witty and entertaining. No one can play with words better than the Twins! Some accuse Gemini of being fickle and/or gossipy….well, Mercury, Gemini’s ruling planet does have wings and was considered to be a “messenger”. It isn’t often about “gossip” though; more likely about the need to communicate and share information. :-) They are the networkers of the zodiac. Automobiles and Gemini’s seem to go together too. They love to drive; always on the go…they have people to see, places to go and things to do! So much to do and so little time! ƸӜƷ

☆♥*♥☆ The Lovers~Gemini ☆♥*♥☆

The Lovers by Salvador Dali

The Lovers card depicts the unclothed bodies of two lovers, a man and a woman. They bare their souls’ to each other. The man gazes upon the woman while the woman looks up to the spirit, Archangel Gabriel. As the angel hovers over the couple, arms and wings spread as if blessing the pair. The sun shines above his head, bringing warmth and security and light. The leaves on the tree mirror the hair on the Angels head…a symbol of the fires of passion burning deep within the lovers’ soul. This sun and fire is also symbolic of our life force and our impulse to create. The fertile grass beneath their feet, and fruit on the tree suggests growth and happiness.

However, as with each card in the deck, and with aspects in a birth chart, there may be negative, symbolic manifestations with this card. The snake coiled in the tree behind the woman is a gentle reminder of the story of Adam and Eve and the temptations we may be faced with. There are 3 people in this card, not two. In this regard, the third person could be an intruder to the relationship.

Triangulation can occur when there is a choice to be made between two lovers or two paths. The Lovers card “is” a card of choices and decisions. Conflicting values arise between sexual love, lust and spiritual love although they are closely related. The card implies struggling with temptation between immediate material desires versus staying true to ourselves on our spiritual path. There may be a conflict between different forms of attraction, values or around money as Gemini is a sign of duality and choices.

When The Lovers card appears in a reading, it can augur the coming or presence of a “Soul Mate” relationship. It mostly represents our intensely intimate and sexual relationships. A loving, committed relationship is indicated and desired above all else. Clear, perceptive communication usually brings a beneficial result. Because this is a card of choices, when it appears in a reading, it could test our personal beliefs, values or code of ethics within that relationship. The need to choose between what really soothes the soul with what may appear as temptation, and ultimately detrimental is possible. This could be an ethical or moral choice. If already involved in a committed relationship, there is mutual understanding and appreciation of each other. This card brings a happy outcome to the situation in question.

The Lovers urge for union is rather powerful and it takes love to the highest spiritual level, symbolic of the Angel symbolism. When The Lovers appears, it always refers to a relationship based on a deep, unwavering love. There is no force more powerful. It doesn’t always have to be a sexual relationship although the mutual sexual attraction can be unrivaled. The Lovers card and the number 6 symbolize unconditional love, strength, wisdom, service and compassion. How often do we give love without judgment, conditions or strings attached?
